For the past 46 years I have been working in the Facilities Management industry from apprentice to an FM Operations Director for a large Construction UK company.


For the past 20 years I have specialised in water hygiene management, developing a comprehensive understanding of water hygiene requirements, including Microbiological water bourne contamination challenges in water systems.


Lend Lease

For the past 11 years, I was the Authorising Engineer (AE) and the operational Facilities Manager for Lend Lease.


The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

I was the Head of Estates, for 5 years, and their appointed “Responsible Person” for water hygiene management and L8 compliance.


British Standards (2014)

Appointed Panel member on the revision of the BS8558:2011: Guide to the design, installation, testing and

maintenance of services supplying water for domestic use within buildings and their curtilages – Complementary

guidance to BS EN 806


IHEEM (2014)

Appointed Panel member of the Water Technical Platform for IHEEM whose purpose is to accredit and register future Authorised Engineers

I have an excellent understanding of opportunistic (water bourne) pathogens and the water statutory regulation requirements for managing hot and cold water distribution systems
